There is nothing quite like the experience performing a show on the MainStage at the Ohio Thespian Festival.

Where else can you experience the thrill of having a house full of theatre people to understand and respect the discipline, dedication, and commitment it takes to fully produce a play or musical?

Through out the fall and winter, the Ohio Thespians screens full-length plays and musicals across the state, providing valuable feedback for directors, actors, and technicians.

From within the pool of screened productions, we invite troupes to bring their shows to the Ohio Thespian Festival to be performed on one of two stages as part of our MainStage Performance lineup.

Troupe Directors can request a screening for fall and winter productions beginning in September of each school year.

Is your Troupe looking for the chance to perform at the Ohio Thespian Festival and get a taste of traveling a show?

The One-Acts Marathon allows you to be a part of the OTF Performance programming, letting your actors and technicians showcase their talents with a small-scale production.

What is the OTF One-Acts Marathon?

The OTF One-Acts Marathon is Ohio Thespians way of featuring small scale productions from our member Troupes. These one-acts and cuttings are performed on Saturday of OTF in a class-room performance space with limited tech, and provides a space for unique stories and productions.

What is the screening process for Marathon shows?

Unless you want to be considered for Chapter Select recognition, there is no screening process for Marathon shows. Troupe directors have the opportunity to submit a one-act or cutting for consideration for the Marathon when they register their Troupe for OTF each year. The Ohio Thespians Chapter Board reserves the right to decline accepting any Marathon production due scheduling limitations.

Can we submit an original work for the Marathon?

Of course! The Marathon is a great place to feature works written or directed by students. It has also featured performances of devised pieces and works that were originally written and staged during 24-hour play festivals.
